About the Program
Digital data has grown exponentially with the ubiquity of the internet and advancements in computing resources, leading to the rapid development and maturing of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. The widespread applications of AI in various fields have enhanced everyday human life. Technologies such as image recognition, speech recognition, human-computer interaction, natural language processing, decision analysis and resolution, financial technology, and information security have undergone new technological innovations due to AI development and have made people’s lives more advanced, convenient, and secure. In response to the challenges and developments in the new era of AI, our university has established a Bachelor's Program in Applied Artificial Intelligence for those interested in pursuing studies in this field. Through the program’s curriculum and training, students will acquire foundational knowledge in information concepts, master the technical tools of AI and machine learning, and be able to integrate this knowledge with their expertise and apply it in their specific professional domains.
Program Features
The program welcomes students from within and outside the Computer Science Department as a way to facilitate dialogue and collaboration among individuals with different professional backgrounds. The program also collaborates with NCCU faculty, labs, and industry experts in different fields, including liberal arts, sciences, law, business, social sciences, and international affairs to promote interdisciplinary research and instruction. The goal is to provide students with holistic hands-on experiences in their studies. In the program, students will develop the foundation, knowledge, skills, and applications, and integrate what they learn with their existing expertise to develop competency in interdisciplinary application of AI.
